"Just wow. From the moment we stepped into Bagatelle, we were impressed. The decor is opulent, but understatedly so. The service is on point but never intrusive. And the food. Mannnnnnnnnn the food. My people and I prefer to share food - so we started with a crudo course with tuna and ceviche and threw in the beef tartare for good measure. Simple, classic dishes perfectly executed. You are getting pommes frites with your tartare, right? Then the pasta courtse - gnocchi with black truffle (wasnt my favorite but I dont go for gnocchi much) and the linguine with tomato sauce. Was reluctant to get such a classically italian dish at a French spot but damn did they ever nail it. Sadly had to run before our group of 4 got dessert, and there was talk of finishing off the meal with oysters...alas."
"If you're looking for a place that feels super casual while also making your meal feel like an event, look no further in Meatpacking. I had dinner with a friend here one night during the week. The vibe was great, the service was amazing and the food was just what we wanted. I'd say the best French menu in NYC. I'll definitely be going back. Plus, I hear it's a celeb hot spot."
